Women, what would you want in a makeup & skincare salon?
I’m opening a new business and would love some feedback on what women are looking for in skincare/makeup salon. What would make your experience relaxing & make you feel uplifted?
I want to provide affordable products and offer a place for the average women to feel pampered and build self-esteem without breaking the bank.
Thank you!
I would want a professional make up artist, who knows what colors look good on women all ages. I would want to know, what looks good on a daily basis and on special occasions.
As part of my evening skin care routine, I have to apply an antioxidant cream (Prevage), a retinol cream (RoC Multi-Correxion), and a lifting cream (Shiseido Bio-Performance Super Lifting Formula). In what order should I apply them? Thanks.
Prevage has to go under everything. It is a serum and serums go first because they absorb into the skin.
I wonder if you should be using RoC and Shiseido together, but they should go on top of Prevage. My guess would be to use them in the order that you listed them: first prevage, second RoC, third Shiseido.
During the winter my skin is extremely dry so I need to use a daily moisturizer. I have tried several different lotions, but after using them for a few days I start to break out. I can’t go without it because my skin just looks like I had a bad burn and now I’m peeling from it. Someone please give me some advice on what kind of moisturizer or treatment I can use!
Aveeno Ultra-Calming daily moisturizing lotion. it calms dry, irritated skin in just a few days and is hypoallergenic and non-cosmedogenic and all that stuff so it won’t make you break out or anything. It should really help, especially for the winter! There’s also a cleanser and night cream in the line but i haven’t tried them. Someone also suggested Clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion. I use that too and it works very well but i don’t think it prevents irritation or protects your skin from environmental aggressions like the Aveeno one. Good luck!

If you’re being plagued by wrinkles, there is but one question on your mind: do wrinkle creams work? This question, like many others, has many answers — some of which you’ll be happy with, and others you won’t be happy with. However, since we’re short on time, let’s stick to the answer you’d rather hear about; yes!
Believe it or not, deep wrinkle cream can in fact be very effective for removing wrinkles. The dilemma, though, lies with choosing the anti-wrinkle cream that would be most effective for you. Since there is a wide variety of choices available, choosing a quality cream can be quite difficult, especially for those who know little to nothing about wrinkle remover cream. That being said, 3 types of anti-wrinkle cream have been listed below. Take a look and see which one sounds most appealing.
Types Of Deep Wrinkle Cream
anti aging wrinkle cream: This particular wrinkle free cream works by increasing collagen in the body. With more collagen, the skin becomes significantly more elastic and resilient, thereby preventing the formation of wrinkles as well as reducing the appearance of those wrinkles that have already formed.
Iced anti wrinkle cream: This is one of the more unique types of anti-wrinkle cream, as it works by freezing the skin and cutting off nerve signals. With nerve signals temporarily cut off, the skin can relax and begin to smooth out. During this short period, wrinkles literally fade away, leaving nothing but clear, smooth skin. This wrinkle-free cream, although very quick to work, is not known for it’s long term results. Typically, results with this type of cream last around 24 hours per application.
Under eye wrinkle cream: As the name suggests, this anti-wrinkle cream is made specifically for the eye region. Unlike most other creams, eye wrinkle cream is made with specially formulated ingredients that will not irritate the eyes; meaning it’s an excellent choice for people who wish to get rid of eye wrinkles & fine lines. Another perk to wrinkle eye cream is that it gets rid of unsightly eye bags brought on by a lack of sleep — something most wrinkle reducing creams are incapable of doing.
Conduct your own wrinkle cream comparison with the information above and then determine which deep wrinkle cream is most suitable for you.
If I’m allergic to Zinc Oxide, am I allergic to Octinoxate as well?
I’ve known since I was a baby that I’m allergic to Zinc Oxide. I recently purchased a moisturizer containing Zinc Oxide (I didn’t know this at the time.) My face began burning, itching, and becoming severely irritated. I immediately washed it off and haven’t used it since. However, I purchased a new moisturizer today that doesn’t contain Zinc Oxide. However, it contains Octinoxate. My face developed the same symptoms, and turned red and irritated. Are Octinoxate and Zinc Oxide the same thing? Or do they contain similar ingredients? I’m trying to figure out what in this new moisturizer is giving my skin a reaction.
Thank-you. (:
You may be allergic to more than one substance. In case of creams and dyes there is no guarantee that you will not be allergic to a product even if all the contents looks safe. The only way is to use it on a small area at a safe body part like below the arm and wait for 48 hrs. If there is no allergic reaction then you can use it on the face.

How can I get rid of my darkcircle under-eye any help for someone Plz!!!! Anything I can do cream something. I do take my 8 hour sleep and won’t go away. WHAT SHOULD I DO??? ANY HELP!!!!
Lots of rest and plenty of water. There are also some great products out there that will help to decrease your dark circles and puffiness. Arbonne has an excellent anti-aging line that is specifically formulated to address the after effects of sun damage and aging. Their facial serum and eye cream contain a natural lightening agent called kojic acid and work to even out your skin tone. They reduce the appearance of long term environmental damage such as brown spots and freckles, and the eye creme is great for spot treating. The eye cream is perfect to reduce dark circles and puffiness under your eyes. I use it and love it. I would be happy to send you a sample if you would be open to giving it a try. Take a look at some of the before and after results.
How To Use eye creams to Reduce Puffiness, Dark Circles and Wrinkles
I don’t understand why my moisturizer I’ve used for the past year was causing breakouts in one area?
I’ve been using Anthony for men moisturizer (A very good line sold in Sephora) for the past 2 years or so.
I recently ran out of mine and stopped using it, and suddenly my trouble zone for small acne disappeared. I had 3 or 4 pimples repeatedly pop up over and over in the same exact spots around my chin. Even when I used a spot treatment they would return.
After I stopped using my moisturizer because I ran out, this all disappeared and did not return after using the spot treatment.
However I continued using the Anthony for Men facial cleanser and shaving cream.
Could my moisturizer have been the cause of this problem area? It does not make sense to me why it would only cause a few pimpes in a small area, but nowhere else and work great on the rest of my face?
Well, some of the facial salons I went to before I learnt from them that pimples occurring on your chin could be due to the fact that the person have digestion problem i.e. because the person was eating too fast. However, just reading your issue here I cannot diagnose it accurately because it could also be that your chin area is oilier than all other parts of your face. It may or may not be your moisturizer. So it would be wise to see a GP or a Dermatologist (whichever you prefer) especially if your symptoms persist as they are the experts in this field and they will definitely help you to cure that problem. (I had a sudden acne breakout once too & after I saw a GP and used some medicated cleanser it all cleared up, mine was due to an allergy to a supplement called Eyebright) Take care of yourself & wishing you clear handsome days ahead! =)
What is a good facial products’ brand for young adult skin? I’m currently going to 22 yr old. I’ve normal skin on my cheeks and oily skin on my forehead left from pregnancy. Even though it has been 7 months since I gave birth but pimples are still bursting on my forehead. I never had such problems before pregnancy.
I tried asking for advice on what to buy and normally I’ll prefer to buy a similar brand for all facial products (cleansers, moisturizer, toner, oil control). But people only try selling me the products they sell and more than often I ended up wasting my money and not finishing the product because they only worsen my condition.
I think its safer to gather advices from consumers instead. Please advise on your past experiences. Thanks! Help really appreciated =)
neutrogena scrub with micro clear is amazing. make sure its the one in the orange tube.

What is the name of that edible body lotion from Victoria’s Secret?
I think it’s by the Beauty Rush line. I really want it, but it’s never in stores and I don’t know the name of it to find it online. A link would be great.
It is called, the “Beauty Rush Body Whip Moisture Cream.” The company doesn’t sell it anymore, but I am sure you can find it on eBay
Roger Shah Pres. Savanah – Body Lotion (Insprations Mix)
Since it’s winter my face is getting dryed out a lot, and I really need something that will make my face brighter, and keep it from drying out.
I have light skin – beige and I can’t use anything with oil in it because my face breaks out easily and takes forever to fix. Also it would be nice if it didn’t smell bad.
I just need a brand that will fit these requirements.
Thanks a lot!
For dry skin the best moisturizers i’ve ever tried are
Yonka’s Pamplemousse – It soaks into skin and doesn’t leave us feeling greasy but rather super soft, it helps dry skin regenerate the oils it needs leaving it with a amazing glow.
Aquaphor Healing Ointment – Put it on after a shower when skin was moist and it keeps the moisture locked in. It’s great for super dry skin. The only downside to Aquaphor is the texture. It can feel like you’re slathering your body in Vaseline. A little goes a long way.
Lancome Absolue Night Treatment – This works amazing and is a quick fix for many skin problems and has noticable results. Only problem is it’s a bit pricey but it’s worth it.
They’re a few i’ve tried and just got reviews on them but at the moment im using Egyptain magic. it’s a multi purpose cream not really a moisturizer but it’s amazing. i deffinatly recommend it for dry skin, but it also heals scars, stretch marks, everything. i highly recommend it and suggest you visit the website. http://www.egyptianmagic.com/
It’s actually a miracle cream, i’m being serious and recommend you vist the website if you dont believe me
DIY Moisturizing Oatmeal Facial Mask (The Skin Care Power Hour)
Do you know the difference between premium skin care products and the average run-of-the-mill varieties? If not, let me give you some information to go shopping with.
Average
The ingredients and the warning labels can tell you more about a product than anything else. It’s difficult to memorize a long list of hazardous irritants and strong allergens. If a product has a warning label, it contains quite a few of them.
The average lotion contains petrolatum. It’s cheap, readily available and is a byproduct of crude oil production for gasoline refineries. Regardless of what you may have heard, petrolatum, mineral oil and liquid paraffin are not moisturizers. They only lock-in the skin’s natural oils, but better ways are available for doing that.
The average cleansers also contain petrolatum or one of its derivatives. Today, anti-bacterial agents have become popular and to provide the antibacterial activity, most companies use triclosan.
Triclosan is not found in premium skin care products because it can react with chlorinated water to form chloroform gas, a human carcinogen. “Green” companies advise against the use of triclosan since it builds up in the environment, damaging wildlife and fish. There are safe and natural compounds that have antibacterial activity. They’re just more expensive.
Better
Glycerin is a better choice than petrolatum since it provides moisture. However, it is not the natural approach that I prefer.
Today, the “better” cosmetics have an SPF rating because they contain a sunscreen, but the daily use of sun-screening compounds is controversial. I prefer to look for natural extracts that provide protection from free radical damage, since UV rays from the sun cause skin-cancer.
Truly premium skin care products do not have an SPF rating. It’s up to you to make sure that you don’t spend too much time in the sun. Wear protective clothing, sunglasses and a broad-spectrum sun-block when you do.
Truly Premium Skin Care Products
The best choices for moisturizing are grape seed, Shea butter and Avocado oil. The one to pick depends on whether it’s for day or nighttime use. If it is to be used under makeup, go with grape seed oil. It dries to a film that makes make-up removal easier and prevents it from clogging the pores.
Grape seed has a dual moisturizing effect because it penetrates, providing moisture with a film locking that moisture in. Shea butter and avocado oil are a little too heavy to use during the day, but as a reparative nighttime cream, the two combined cannot be beat.
If you also look for products that contain natural antioxidants like vitamin E and coenzyme Q10, then you can prevent and repair free radical damage. When it comes to cleaning and antibacterial activity, nothing is better than manuka honey.
So, that’s how you tell the difference between premium skin care products and ordinary ones. Hope this info helps.
What vitamin / minerals (a) Is beneficial for the heart (b) is good for the skin and anti-aging?
well a balanced always help..but anti-oxidants are they key for youthful skin..they contain properties which eliminate free radicals which can lead to skin loosing its elasticity.
Bonnie Kaplan, 53, had a few wrinkles and she believed Botox was the answer. Celebrities were endorsing it; many people were using it, and her friends were into it. What could possibly go wrong, she thought.
Without any hesitation, she visited a private clinic in Florida for some shots. Her dream was to be wrinkle-free. Little did she know her short visit would turn into a nightmare.
“The consequences were horrific. Thirty-six hours after the injections, Bonnie started to have problems breathing and was so weak she couldn’t walk,” reported Claire Coleman in the Daily Mail.
“She was rushed to the hospital and, as botulism set in, her nerves were damaged. Within hours, her whole body was paralyzed,” she continued.
Later, Kaplan would learn that the doctor she visited wasn’t a dermatologist but an osteopath. To make matters worse, he had injected her with a different form of the botulinum toxin – one that was intended for lab research rather than for use in humans.
“Doctors think she may have received up to 2,500 times the amount of toxin believed to be lethal if injected into the bloodstream,” Coleman wrote.
“After spending months in hospital, breathing with the help of a ventilator and unable to speak, Bonnie was eventually able to move around in a wheelchair, but doctors warned that the possibility of a full recovery was slim and could take years,” she added.
Kaplan wasnÂ’t the only person to take the deadly injections. Her husband Eric, 52, also received the shots. So did the doctor himself Bach McComb, 47, and his girlfriend Alma Hall, 34. All three were hospitalized.
Authorities are worried that what happened to Kaplan and the three others could also be happening to other people this very minute. As the popularity of Botox grows and treatments become more accessible, who is to stop any Tom, Dick or Harry from giving you a shot?
“It is not adequate to blindly stick a needle in someone’s face with scant knowledge of the potential risks that can include facial necrosis or disfigurement,” according to John Curran, chair of the British Association of Cosmetics Doctors (BACD).
But doctors said that is exactly whatÂ’s happening today due to lax regulations that can easily be bypassed by enterprising individuals out to make a fast buck at the expense of others. Coleman pointed out that while Botox is a prescription drug that can only be obtained by a doctor, anyone can inject it under the guidance of a doctor.
“If I decided to set up a salon offering Botox and filler shots to the public at £150 a time, all I need to do is find a doctor prepared to give or sell me Botox and show me how to inject it. Then, despite the fact I have absolutely no medical training, I would be acting within the law. But even if I couldn’t find an accommodating doctor, the widespread availability of Botox and other injectable products on the internet means that I could get my hands on pretty much anything I needed,” Coleman explained.
Until more stringent laws are passed and the industry learns to regulate itself, your best bet is to get Botox injections from a qualified doctor. DonÂ’t be ashamed to check your doctorÂ’s credentials since your face is on the line and things could get ugly if youÂ’re not careful.
Another alternative is to use a product that works like Botox minus the side effects. One popular brand is the Rejuvinol AM/PM Botox Alternative Age-Defying System. This anti-aging system has two powerful components: the Rejuvinol morning moisturizer that creates firmer, healthier, and younger-looking skin; and the Rejuvox night cream that reduces fine lines and wrinkles. What is an oil-free, soothing, not too expensive, light moisturizer that I can use?
surprisingly, I can’t find one that feels right on my oily face. Pure aloe vera would have been fine had it not irritated my eyes.
Actually, come to think of it, my face doesn’t really get oily unless I use irritating products.
maybe I’ll just mix my pure aloe vera gel with something…

How to Braid Cornrows : Scalp Lotion Tips for Cornrows
I have extremely dry skin on my hands. I work with children so I am always washing my hands. Because it is winter, my hands are drying up. They itch now and it looks like I have bumps on my hands. I’ve tried using a moisturizer and it hasn’t worked I’m aiming for something completely natural. I hear olive oil helps?
Anyone hear of any all natural recipes or ingredients that will help me ?
No I am not retarded. I have used moisturizer and hand cream and it’s not working. I need natural ingredients because anything store bought seems to be making it worse.
Here are some household tips to rectify the problem.
*
SUGAR AND OIL:
Take 3 tablespoons of sugar, one tablespoons of oil (any oil, vegetable oils, olive oil or almond oil will do). Mix the sugar and oil, beat to a blended consistency. Rub into the hands. Keep rubbing for 5 -7 minutes, then rinse well with warm water. The dead coarse skin is removed and the hands appear soft and clean.
*
SUGAR AND LIME: Take one tablespoon lemon juice, one tablespoon sugar, one tablespoon water. Lightly mix all these ingredients and rub all over the hands. Keep rubbing it in till it starts to dry. Rinse with water. Softens coarse hands.
*
HONEY LEMON JUICE AND OIL: Take one-teaspoon oil (any oil, vegetable oils, olive oil or almond oil will do), one teaspoon lemon juice, one tablespoon rose water. Mix well together. Rub over crusty elbows, knuckles and other hardened areas. Keep rubbing it in, then after 5 – 7 minutes rinse off. This not only nourishes the skin, but also keeps it soft.
*
LEMON JUICE AND BARLEY POWDER: Take one tablespoon barley powder, one tablespoon lime juice. In case barley powder is not available, boil barley for 10 minutes. Extract the juice and mix it with lime juice. Apply on the finger joints to get rid of dark circles. Rub well into the skin. Leave it to dry and then apply and rub again. After it has dried, then rinse off. Softens and whitens the knuckles.
*
POTATO JUICE:
Take two potatoes, peel and grate them. Extract juice of these potatoes. Apply all over the hands, especially over the knuckles and finger joints. The potato juice can also be applied over scars left by wounds, cuts or burns. If used regularly, it helps to eliminate these scars and lightens dark areas around the knuckles and finger joints.
*
ONION JUICE:
You can relieve minor kitchen burns on the hand just by rubbing a raw onion on the burn. Take an onion, cut it into half and rub on the burned area. It immediately reduces inflammation and relieves pain.
*
COLD MILK: Did you know that blisters on the hands while cooking, can be cured with a cold milk compress if applied immediately? Put some cold milk on the blister; dab it two or three times on the blisters. It soothes immediately and actually aids healing.
*
TURMERIC POWDER:
So often hands get minor cuts while chopping vegetables or while performing other household chores. In cutting your fingers or hands, immediately apply turmeric powder onto the wound. It stops bleeding and aids healing.
*
GELATIN: For those people who have split nails and cracked hands, a good ‘soak’ in gelatin will certainly help. Take a packet of gelatin or lemon jelly, pour it into a cup of hot water. Make a packet of gelatin or lemon jelly, pour it into a cup of hot water. Make a paste and put it to set. When it has set, soak the hands in this jelly, keep rubbing the nails and cuticles as well as the hands. Keep them soaked for at least 15 minutes. A regular use of this treatment prevents cracks on the skin of the fingers and the cracking and splitting of fingernails. Eating jelly also helps promote a healthy growth of nails.
*
BUTTERMILK AND ALMOND OIL: Take one tablespoon almond oil and one cup buttermilk. Mix well, apply on the hands. Massage well, let it dry, then apply again. Repeat this till all the solution is used up. Use this at night, before bedtime. Wear cotton gloves and sleep. Next morning, rinse well. This treatment ensures that the hands remain soft and maintain a good skin texture.
P.S Remember to wear gloves outside to prevent the wind from drying out the skin.
