I have a sample at home and I apply it before I go to bed every night. I have seen small changes, and I was wondering if it works for anyone else?
I liked it at first, but I like pure coconut oil the best. I buy it in 5 gallon cans and sell it off. Just a tiny jar llasts forever, and is good for lots of stuff.
Estee Lauder actually stings the skin on my eyelids. So does the Day Wear Plus. Got some in my eyes the other day and it stung, too.
It appears that regardless of what you do, your skin is oily over time – you tone, you wash, and you even skip the moisturizer from time to time, however you just can’t seem to get your skin to be less oily. Oily skin care can be difficult to find, however if you know where to look, you can locate excellent skin care products that will provide your skin with the best type of moisture balance.
Moisture Balance
One of the initial things that you’ll need to do is to remember to moisturize on a daily basis. Numerous individuals are of the belief that skipping moisturizing when they have oily skin will cut down on their oiliness, however this only has the effect of making the skin ‘think’ that it needs to create more oil for its protection. The best skincare results can be gotten from a moisturizer that is only for oily skin; a facial cleanser that is formulated just for oily skin care will complement the moisturizer as well.
Another large part of what numerous individuals with oily skin are looking for so that they can manage the health of their skin would be that of acne treatment. In the majority of instances many people with oily skin are more prone to having breakouts, because the additional production makes it much simpler for oil and dirt to become trapped in the pores.
Another essential part of oily skin care is that of whole body care, because the pores are even larger all the body, which can result in blemishes on the chest and back as well. Hence, you’ll want to obtain stronger acne medication, such as those that contain sulfur or benzoyl peroxide, so that you can minimize pores as well as keeping your skin cleaner throughout the day.
Aging Skin Care
When you are treating oily skin another avenue to take would be aging skincare. Aging skincare products are designed to maintain moisture, this is so you will not lose any of the natural oil within your skin, and you can also prevent fine lines and wrinkles in the process. If you’re worried about breakouts and you wish to maintain a youthful appearance, you should try using acne treatment products during the day, and aging skincare products during the evening.
If you find that you are still not able to manage your oily skin, you can try creating a mask made from oatmeal or strawberries to give your skin a healthy glow or have a conversation with your dermatologist about the best skin care products that will reduce oil, such as certain soaps or moisturizers. You may also want to carry along some makeup blotting towels with you throughout the day to reduce oily buildup on your face, and also remember to drink plenty of fresh water to establish a moisture balance within your body.

Because I heard that exercise increases growth hormone which you make when your sleeping and growth hormone is anti aging right.I don’t really know what im talking about here its just a theory.
No, exercise cannot replace sleep. Actually exercise will require your body to require more sleep. The more you exercise the more your body needs time to restore and rebuild your muscles. Like if you weight lift. When you are weight lifting you are tearing your muscles. Your muscles needs a couple of days to rebuild. As you are restoring your body you are in need of more sleep and time to heal. I hope this helps!
I have used olay moisturizer for sensitive skin on my face for 4yrs. At the beginning of this year my face starting itching and i noticed bumps.. so i changed my face soap and it continued.. then i changed my make-up and it didnt work either.. but im still using the moisturizer
Don’t use the moisterizer. You are allergic.
Many people develop allergies to commonly used things over long periods of time. That’s why so many people develop a chap stick allergy.
It’s not an uncommon thing.
I would stop using it; it’s going to make things worse.
Take benadryl and get a desonide prescription from your dermatologist.
Sorry this is not a question. But I’ve noticed that a lots of questions has been asked as to what skincare to use etc. I just want to remind all our friends here that pls do not forget to neglect neck/throat cream, as well as anti aging hand cream. Whats the point if you have maintain a younger looking face but your neck shows its lines and your hands have all the age spot. Just a reminder. Sorry.
That’s a very good reminder! No reason to write “sorry”!
I just love this little question and answer community here! I learn a lot as well as share my ideas with others.
Thanks!
Some time later…
I just thought of something else to add, it’s important that when applying your face cream that you keep your face relaxed. No one ever talks about this but I noticed a huge difference when I did it. One morning, I noticed my face was tense while I put on my face cream so the next time, I made sure I kept my face relaxed and what a difference! It really makes the product you’re using much more effective.
Just thought I’d add that little tidbit!
I never heard of them before I went overseas this spring. Then I came back to the US and I see them advertisted and even in gum and breath mints. Is this a popular trend now like if you eat them you are cool or something?
Not a trend, pomegranates have been enjoyed for a long time, a very long time I think.
It’s just that people must have found out about how healthy these pomegranates are, and you know how people like to jump on the Healthy Band Wagon.
It’s become more popular just like how having pro-biotic bacteria cultures in your yogurt has become really popular. It help with your health and therefore, people buy it and marketers notice and start selling things with bacteria cultures, or pomegranates.

Whats the pros and cons of using natural glow moisturizers that give u gradual tan?
pros and cons please.
*best answer
Pros:
NOT orange, if you choose the right color for your original skin tone.
Easy to apply.
Cons:
Rubs off easily in the shower if you scrub too hard or use loofas.
Can be streaky if you aren’t careful about where you apply it.
Applying it everyday or every other day can get tiring…
Will get on your clothes if you don’t let it properly dry.

What kind of moisturizer/cream do you use on a daiy basis?
I’ve used all sorts of moisturizers like Olay, Lancome, Shiseido, and etc. But I don’t find any of them useful. What kind of moisturizer do you use?
Thanks!
I’ve used Olay products for years and find them consistently better than the high priced stuff….and they’re recommended by dermatologists. A moisturizer can only do so much. You also need to drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from within, and of course eating a health diet and getting enough exercise are helpful in keeping your skin looking good. It’s all connected.

REVIEW: Elizabeth Arden’s PREVAGE anti-aging day & night cream
i’m not sure if it’s sunburned, or just an acne product i use that contains salicylic acid (i don’t have bad acne, just a few spots occasionally.), but my nose recently has been very dry and it’s peeling. It’s red too, but it doesn’t really hurt unless i peel some of the skin, in which case it stings a little.
This peeling makes it very hard for me to apply foundation and cover up to hide the redness, and it appears very cakey and ugly after i do attempt to apply makeup.
I use Mary Kay Balancing Moisturizer every night and under my makeup, but so far it hasn’t done a thing. I’ve tried sunscreen too, but that doesn’t do anything either.
Any advice, tips, or products i can use to make this problem go away? especially when applying my makeup?
Salicylic acid will make your face dry out..especially around the nose area. I had the same problem as well. What works for me is using a gentle exfoliator around my nose and then finish off with a moisturizer. Then put foundation on. It works for me!! Give it a try!!
Great Summertime Foundation Suggestion!….+Moisturizer+Sunscreen!
‘Henrietta Lacks’: A Donor’s Immortal Legacy
In 1951, Henrietta Lacks died after a long battle with cervical cancer. Doctors cultured her cells without permission from her family. The story of those cells — known as HeLa cells, in Lacks’ honor — and of the medical advances that came from them, is told in Rebecca Skloot’s book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. What’s your skincare routine/your favorite skincare products?
So, what’s your favorites and least favorites?
In the shower, I grab a facecloth, put a little bit of foaming cleanser on (I think it’s Aveeno?) and scrub my face to death to remove the dry skin. Sometimes i’ll even get an exfoliating sea sponge and exfoliate further. When I get out the shower, I apply a toner (Caryl Baker). Before I put my makeup on, I apply a little bit of moisturizer (Olay original formula). I don’t usually take my makeup off before bed unless I’m wearing a lot of eye makeup.
what is the best eyelash moisturizer for a cheap price?
I want an eyelash moisturizer or makeup remover that moisturizes my eyelashes to keep them from getting brittle and broken. I used that XXL black and white mascara and my eyelashes fell out. I want to keep using it because it lengthens so well but if there is another mascara that thickens and lengthens well from experience I’d like to know. I’m also looking for something under 9 dollars. Thanks
Use Almay Triple Effect Mascara. It lengthens, volumizes, and curls, all in one! And extra, it NOURISHES your eyelashes, so they won’t get brittle and broken. It’s only like $8 at your local drugstore.
Or, if you keep wanting to use your XXL, use Vaseline after you take of your mascara. This will keep your lashes strong and soft.
I went to CVS today and bought some make-up products and some face washes. If you’ve used any of the products can you tell me how well they worked? (By the way I want to see how well they work for people with oily/combination skin)
Face wash products I bought:
-Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips
-Neutrogena Healthy Defense Light Tint SPF 30 daily moisturizer
-Roc Mult-Correxion Exfoliating Cleanser
Make-up products I bought:
-Sally Hansen Your Skin Makeup Foundation
-Maybelline Pure Makeup Shine-Free Foundation

when i should be using tretinoin and erythromycin topical?
my derm said it doesn’t matter if i use either one at night or morning but he did say that if i use tretinoin during the day to use sunscreen. but i have been using the erythromycin during the night instead of the tretinoin because the eryhromycin makes my skin so dry and white and when i put my moisturizer on it still makes it look scaly and later in the day makes it look so oily. any opinoins? i use oil free neutrogena moisterizer with spf 30
well for you if your going to cont. .. your regimen.. the Tretinoin or Retina A should only be used at night.. or definately with a sunscreen .. cause.. will cause your to breakout more.. sunburn etc…and the emycin anytime day or night… emycin during the day.. and Retina A at night…. but here i wanna give you my story: THIS WORKS FAST & CHEAP!!! I used Tetracyclin, Proactive, Retina A and had many expensive facials with less than good results. This has worked for me and many many other happy people. Go to pharm.,Drug store, or Walmart, buy “PURPOSE” bar of soap – Blue box – Made by Johnson & Johnson – wash your face with this 2-3x’s per day. Also pick up a LOW strength Benzoyl-peroxide cream, apply the cream by dabbing to the individual blemishes…. DONT rub it in works using a oxidation/reduction reaction…DONT over use this or put anywhere else on your face.. It will cause drying and make you look worse. Also, If need which probably will for moisture ASK FOR “NUTRADERM lotion” – the orginal not the new stuff, this works great and wont clog pores or leave a residue on your skin…Additonal TIPS: acne, pimples, etc are frequently cause by a bacteria or hormone issues…. DONT PICK POP POKE (your hands are the dirtiest part of your body) and will cause: infections, spreading of germs, more breakouts and scarring DONT EVER listen to people online who tell you to scrub your sensative skin or use harsh chemicals such as: Lemon juice, vinagar, alcohol, etc… DONT EVER use that APRICOT CRAP!!! DONT USE PROACTIVE- this is expensive and harsh it may kill the bacteria cause also Benzoyl based wash but will irritate skin and cause bleaching of face and neck…. Other similar treatments may work.. also things such as Accutane but have serious side effects…. THIS WORKS FAST AND CHEAP!!! I no longer get expensive facials, take oral antibiotics, or even NEED makeup… I am very happy – Have very good skin… and have many many other happy friends… THANKS again to my WONDERFUL DERMATOLOGIST… TRY THIS!! GOOD LUCK…. PS. “PURPOSE” costs about $3
why applying moisturizer, sunscreen and foundation clog my pores?
maybe you’re not using the right kind of skincare and cosmetics for you. There’s a huge range of selections out there for Oily, Normal and Dry skin. It’s also possible that you’re not cleaning your face properly. Don’t forget to cleanse, exfoliate, tone and moisturize every night before you go to bed. Make this a daily ritual and your clogged pores will be able to breathe again.
i recently bought a facial cream and cleanser by elizabeth arden…the facial cream is a perpetual 24hr moisturizer and the cleanser is a purifying ceramide. i also tried a lavender night cream by DK. are there some ingredients in either of these that may just be too strong for sensitive skin which i think i have? my face and throat itched like i had poison ivy but i didnt and it took about 3 days before it was gone? thanks for your help.
i have very dry skin. what works good or what can i try?
im 14..i have really dry skin in the winter. after i take showers, i put lotion on my legs. every night i put lotion on my hands, i put on chapstick at least twice a day, and i put moisturizer on once a day. is there any homemade things i could try? currently i used aveeno daily moisturizing lotion for my hands and legs. i use blistex for my lips. and for my face..i dont remember what kind it is and i dont wanna get up and look..lol..but its some natural generic stuff. what works good? what could i try? thanks
• For dry skin use a creamy cleanser to melt away dirt.
Leave it on your skin before sweeping it away with cotton wool.
Splash cold water onto your face to clean and refresh your skin.
Use a thick cream moisturiser to seal in as much moisture as possible.
• Make a puree of 1 banana and 1 papaya, peach or avacado. Apply to skin.
Leave on for at least 20 minutes then rinse with warm water, followed by a
moisturizer of natural margarine or natural vegetable oil.
• Apply natural mayonnaise, either homemade or from natural foods store.
Massage into skin, leave on for 15-20 minutes, rinse thoroughly with warm water.
• Grate the rind of one whole lemon into 4 tablespoons plain yogurt.
Mix and rub over entire body concentrating on the driest patches. Rinse.
• Mix 1 cup of boiling water with 1/2 cup of bran and let cool.
Immerse hands into mixture and massage into hands. Rinse with warm water
and follow with a hand moisturizer.
• To treat extremely dry skin, mash a Banana and a tablespoon of Honey to it.
Apply on the skin, leave on for 10 minutes and wash off.
• Mix together 24ml Apricot Kernel Oil, 5 drops of Petitgrain Oil,
4 drops of Sandalwood Oil and 3 drops of Camomile oil.
Apply as a mask for 10 minutes or massage on to your face.
It will rejuvenate tired and dull skin.
• Blend together 24ml Jojoba Oil, 4 drops of Patchouli Essential Oil,
3 drops of Sandalwood Essential Oil and 2 drops of Rosewood Essential Oil.
Use this blend for a facial massage to help dry skin.
• Blend together 1 egg yolk, 1 teaspoon orange juice, 1 teaspoon olive oil,
few drops of rose water and few drops of lime juice and apply on your skin.
• After you clean and tone your skin, apply a splash of water or a water-misting.
Pat almost dry with a soft towel, then smooth moisturizer from bosom to hairline.
Allow 5 min for immediate absorption (cover your face and throat with warm
washcloths to hasten penetration). Blot off any excess moisturizer with a tissue.

what is the best type and brand of body lotion for dry skin?
help! i can’t seem to get rid of my dry skin!
the important thing is to AVOID mineral oil and to avoid animal products in your ingredients…. i use ARBONNE … and i am not selling you the product but they are really amazing… i entered this site: http://arbonnepuertorico.myarbonne.com and read all about them and asked for some samples …. and my face skin is extreamly oily but my body (knees, feet, elbows) are really dry… so i used their samples for only less than a week and saw a huge difference… their products are botanically based and without mineral oil which is the 2nd worse thing we could do to our skin, it will be like rubbing car oil and exposing yourself to the sun…. all the fine lines are caused 1 by sun and 2 mineral oil the statistics are 90% sun and 10% mineral oil….
My skin is horribly dry in the winter because of the heating in our home. I wear foundation every day. All winter last year I used “Oil of Olay active hydrating beauty fluid” under my make-up, but it didn’t make my skin better. I don’t care if I have to use a product every day, but it HAS to work because I’m am so self-conscious about the condition of my face. The foundation I use is “Cover Girl Tru-blend” liquid foundation. I have read so many questions on here about this, but no one mentioned the same product twice, so I’m still not sure what to try. Any suggestions?
