I just started a new skin routine 5 days ago, and started Yaz birth control 4 days ago, for my moderate-severe acne… I’m using a gentle cleanser, smoothing toner (which I have stopped because it burned) and la roche de posay toleriane fluide moisturizer (made for intolerant skin) and Differin (this is about the only cream I HAVEN’T tried yet… after 5 years of struggling with acne..)
so far so good, I haven’t seen any improvement yet, but not many side effects… just wondering if anyone has tried this and has seen results and how fast? your experiences would be greatly appreciated!!! i’ve tried EVERYTHING else.. seriously.. lol

hi, i would like to buy my first bbcream. i was planning on buying the Missha Perfect Cover BBcream #23, but on the list of ingredients, it included anti-aging. i am a 15 year old and i don’t think anti-aging bbcream is good for my skin especially for a young age.

anti-aging products are great for your skin, even at a young age. Many younger women are starting to use anti-aging products because they are great for preventing premature wrinkles or fine lines. I think it would be fine if you used it, its not going to do anything bad to your skin, if anything, it will just prevent premature wrinkles and prolong your smooth skin.
my eye cream is stinging my eyes, what does this mean?
Hi all, I’m using an eye cream at the moment, it’s called “tony & tina herbal eye serum w/blue corn”. well the thing is when i’m using it, it seems to sting my eyes, and i’m abit worried that this might be abit off as i purchased it from somebody off ebay and have no real idea how long the person has had this for. I’m abit worried because i’m not to sure whether it is suppose to be stinging my eyes or not. If somebody has used this eye cream before, could you please let me know whether the same thing happened to you? I’m worried because no other eye cream i have used before has ever stung my eyes this much and it could also possibly mean that this cream is working, or is expired, but i really wouldn’t know. the stinging sensation is only a sting, it does not make my eyes red or anything serious.

well no i havn used it..but i don’t think any kind of eye cream is supposed to sting your eyes..eye creams are made with very careful ingredients because th skin underneath the eyes is extremely sensitive.maybe you are allergic to one of th ingredients in it,or maybe its expired.whatever th case is id suggest to stop using it.vichy does very good eye creams and they’re not very expensive.

I just bought a new body lotion (Johnson’s) and I was wondering if any of the ingredients in it are harmful to the skin.
Ingredients: Water, Mineral Oil, Glycerin, Ceteareth-6, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Citric Acid, Ethylparaben, Squalane, Glyceryl Oleate, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract.
BTW, I’ve recently heard that Mineral Oil is bad for your skin. Yet, I found most of the lotions found in the market contain Mineral Oil including Nivea, Vaseling, and Johnson’s. In fact, I haven’t found any product that does not contain it. How does MIneral Oil affect the skin?

So I recently went to the dermo for my acne..she perscribed this regimen: natural skin(2% SAL and GLY acids) with differin in the morning and at night natural skin with duac at night plus an antibiotic. So I have done this regimen for a week and my skin is red as can be and it is very dry. I was wondering if this will clear up my acne complety because I really want to get rid of it and will it make my pore smaller because right know everything is the same..no change. ALSO DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY REALLY MOISTURIZING MOISTURIZERS
Did she give you instructions on how to apply? Differin will dry your skin out. You should start out slowly and only apply it 1 or 2 days the 1st week, 2 or 3 days the 2nd week, etc… Gradually increase until you use it everyday. The same regimen was prescribed to me – and it took about 7 weeks before I was supposed to use differin every day. Differin / duac is a good combo. It will work – be patient.
Use a moisturizer with an SPF 15 or higher and stay out of the sun, sun exposure will further dry out your skin. Check with your dermatologist to see if she recommends a particular moisturizer.

I go to the vancouver skin care centre. It is a really good place. I had horrible acne and a forehead rash and when we moved to vancouver I went there and now i am acne free! It got a lot better in about two months, but took a year to clear up completely. I say stp using proactive and those, and see a dermetologist. They will give you what you really need for your skin.

What have you done in regards to anti-aging when you were young? Was it worth it?
Im 20 and have become interested in anti-aging since I was 18. I am currently using coconut/jojoba (and sometimes castor) oil for moisturizing. And for Christmas (although I will prob be in japan studying abroad…but afterwards then) I am asking for a pillow that prevents wrinkles, and an inversion table (a large thing that hangs you upside down to reverse the effect of gravitational pull ).
I also wear sunscreen everyday, wash my face twice per day, and use Retin-A cream at night time.
I just want to look young when I am older…Like I hope to marry a man who is around 10+ years older than me, and then I also hope to become super rich off starting my own chain company (so I can afford whatever antiaging surgeries are available in around 30 years from now).

Staying out of the sun is the best thing you can do. Some people think it is OK to tan if they use spf. It isn’t.
The other important thing is to keep moisturized. And unless you have oily skin, don’t wash your face with soap too often (I do it once per day and after I exercise only). Because this dries your skin out and rids it of things it needs.
Don’t use too many products/creams. This can cause problems with skin. Pick one or two from the same brand (so the different creams on your face will work together and not react to create problems) and use nothing else.
Finally, eat healthy food.
At 20, if you’re using expensive creams and pillows, inversion tables, etc, that is not necessary and you are wasting your money. Stay out of the sun (most important), moisturize, and eat a healthy diet. Good luck.

How about telling your mother that wrinkles and whatnot are just a natural part of growing older, and that she simply needs to acknowledge that? .. Perhaps all of her ‘straining’ to look as young as her daughter asking this question is the cause of those wrinkles.

My DNA has determined what my skin is going to be like. So rather than trying to change the skin you own live with it. Here is what you can go. Luckily you do not have to wear make up in our society so you are freer to be able to cleanse your face more often during the day. Don’t use moisturizers. I know that’s what the experts told me too. It just made my face make more oil. During your daily breaks and men’s room stops just splash your face with cool water and pat cry. Use Noxzema microbead cleanser at night and in the morning. It has a nice cooling effect and does not over moisturize your skin because of the cleansing beads and you wash it off. Refrain from using wash cloths or pads but once a week give yourself a skin abrasion and skin serum treatment. You can buy these products at any drug store cosmetic counter. It helps take the dead skin off and sludge from the pores and the serum is so light but protects the skin after using the abrasion beads.

I’m looking for a night time moisturizer. I absolutely love Philosophy’s Miracle Worker Miraculous anti-aging moisturizer, but at $55 for 2 ounces, the cost is a bit much for me. I also love Noah’s Naturals Natural Age Repair face moisturizer, but I can’t find it any more. (I think the company may have busted since they don’t have a web site any more)

I have wondered this for a while now, working as a bar manager, and doorman, i feel it could help with a lot of problems with anti-social behaviour, binge drinking and other things. would the
drink driving statistics come down? would car deaths come down? would our streets in britain become safer? would it help bring insurance down for younger people?
but i would be against because, the pub industry would loose money, taxes may go up, students would have nothing to do(possibly university prices being raised)and because i was 18, and had a great couple of weekends.

The kids would still drink anyway. They always have and always will, and making it more taboo will only worsen the problem.
The only safe way to go is awareness. You can’t tell these kids to not drink. At least, not for many, many years.
Parents, teachers and publications should be teaching them HOW to drink; what signs to watch for when your body is saying “Take a Break!” (dizziness, double vision, nausea etc.) How to stop those symptoms developing – lots of tricks – where to splash cold water to regain control; how to nibble and sip; how you can have a glass of water added to your order – and take alternative sips of both drinks – that way you don’t lose face with your group, but are controlling your alcoholic intake. How to handle peer pressure without adverse effects . What drinks to ask for; how to understand what they will do to you according to your individual genetic make-up and body mass weight, and how to still impress. How not to end up in the gutter with your mini-skirt above your knickers, or start a riot, or throw up all over the place. And so on!
These are the issues that adults need to address; not more rules.

To give your hair a great shine and help remove soap build up.
Blondes — Add a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice to your rinse water.
Brunettes and Redheads — Add a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to your rinse water.
Stir 1 teaspoon honey into 4 cups (1 quart) warm water. After shampooing, pour mixture through hair. Do not rinse out. Dry as normal.
Fruit Smoothie Hair Mask
Blend 1/2 a banana, 1/4 cantaloupe, 1/4 avocado, 1 tablespoon wheat germ oil and 1 tablespoon yogurt. For extra conditioning, squeeze in the contents of a vitamin E capsule. Leave in hair for 15 minutes.
Honey & Olive Oil Hair Mask
Mix 1/2 cup honey and 3 tablespoons olive oil. Work a small amount at a time through hair until coated. Cover hair with a shower cap; leave on 30 minutes. Shampoo well and rinse.
Dandruff Treatment
Boil 7 heaping tablespoons dried thyme in 2 cups water for 10 minutes. Strain and cool. Pour 1/2 mixture over clean, damp hair. Massage into scalp, do not rinse. Use the rest of the solution another day.
Yogurt Hair Mask
Beat 1 egg white until foamy. Add to 6 tablespoons plain natural yogurt. Apply to hair in small sections at a time. Leave in for 15 minutes. Rinse.
Egg & Olive Oil Hair Mask
Mix two whole eggs with four tablespoons of olive oil. Smooth through hair. Wrap head with plastic wrap, and leave in hair for 10 minutes. Rinse well.

Conditioners
Mayonnaise is a great conditioner for dry hair. Depending on the length of your hair, apply approximately 1/2 cup of mayonnaise to your dry hair. Work into hair really well and then cover your hair with a plastic bag, allowing to set for about 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and then shampoo as usual.
In a blender or food processor, combine 2 1/2 tablespoons dried milk, 1 tablespoon wheat germ oil, and 1 egg. Apply evenly to hair and let set for at least an hour. Shampoo and style as usual.
Hair Setting Lotions
Try dissolving a teaspoon of gelatin in a cup of warm water and use this as a setting lotion before styling hair. You can use this as a liquid or chill it and use it as a gel.
Dissolve 1 teaspoon sugar in 1 cup warm water and apply to damp hair before styling.
Combine 4 tablespoons olive oil and 2 tablespoons honey in a glass jar with a lid and shake until well blended. Let mixture sit for 3 to 4 days, and shake it occasionally. Rub mixture evenly into dry hair and wrap hair in plastic wrap, letting set for at least an hour. Shampoo as usual.
Mix together 2 tablespoons vegetable oil and 1 egg. Apply to hair and let set for about an hour. Shampoo as usual.
To help a flaky scalp, warm 2 to 3 tablespoons vegetable oil in the microwave (make sure it’s not too hot!) and then gently apply to scalp with cotton balls. Let set for at least an hour and then shampoo as usual.

Urban Decay Naked Palette: This palette is great for natural looks/everyday/ evening. It comes with 12 eyeshadows and varies from satin/matte/shimmer/glitter. I personally love this palette because the eyeshadows are pigmented, long lasting and dont crease when used with the UD primer potion, which this palette comes along with, but it’s a mini size. Along with the primer, it also comes with a great eyeshadow brush, which works great in picking up a decent amount of eyeshadow to apply on the lid. For $48 dollars, you are technically paying $4 dollars per shadow and can consider the primer potion and the eyeshadow brush as a bonus, which is why I love Urban Decay for their affordable palettes.
Urban Decay Ammo Palette: This is another of my favorite eyeshadow palettes by Urban Decay. This palette varies from neutral shades to bold shades. I would recommend this palette if you are the type of person that will get good use out of this palette, meaning are willing to wear bold colors. If so would recommend this. Also for head up, this palette contains glitter eyeshadows so beware of the fall out. If you are not a fan of fallouts, wouldn’t recommend it.
Urban Decay Deluxe Palette: Another bold colored eyeshadow palette just as the ammo palette, only brighter colors. I love this palette because the colors are smooth on the lid. Just as any other UD eyeshadow, they are long lasting, crease resistance with the UD primer potion, and pigmented. Again, if you are willing to use bold colors go for it, you can also create neutral looks with some of the shades included in the palette. As far as glitter, the eyeshadows are all shimmer and don’t contain any glitter so that’s a bonus and something to worry less about.
Too faced natural eye palette: I find this palette similar and a cheaper alternative to the Urban Decay Naked palette. I would recommend this to people who want something similar to the Naked palette and who can’t afford it. As far as pigmentation, these eyeshadows are as great as the UD eyeshadows, they are long lasting and crease resistant with the eyeshadow primer. What I like about this palette is that it comes with day look, classic look, and fashion look cards and eyeshadows for those certain categories. It also comes with a sponge and eyeliner applicator. If you can afford the Naked palette and this palette, I would say go for both, like I personally did, which in a way I’m glad I did because the colors may be somewhat dupes, but not necessarily because they somewhat have a different finish to each of them. If I had to choose between this one and the Naked palette, it would be the Naked palette only because it comes with a wider range of colors. If you can, get both.
