Is Proactiv better than expencive brands?

I currently use the Biotherm Homme series. I have the cleanser, the exfoliator and several different moisturisers like Aquapower Gel. The reason i have different moisturisers from Biotherm Homme is because my skin varies in dryness for instance, so I use the one that is best for my skin in that moment.

Homme? So you’re a guy. Honestly, dont limit yourself to just men’s products. You’re just limiting your selection when there are tons more that are even better. I first started out like that and used Alford&Hoff as well as Lab Series. But I hated how most stores only had one little section for guys and the rest of the store was for women. Skin is skin. Seeing as you’re already into exfoliation, buy a Clarisonic Pro. Thats the top of the line model not sold in stores. You may have seen Clarisonic Plus, the regular one, and the Mia at Sephora. It will turn all of your cleansers into an exfoliator. The oscillating motion should loosen comedones. I had severe cystic acne and I break out rarely now.

I bought it when I was 17 so I know how you may not have a credit card. Buy one of those greendot prepaid cards from CVS or something. Make sure its greendot as you wont be able to use any other prepaid cards online. And make sure when you check how much shipping and tax is by submitting your order as you cant reload money onto the card as I doubt your mom would like you using your social security number.

As for an actual cleanser to use with the Clarisonic, since you dont have acne problems and it seems you have normal to dry skin, I would go for a basic cleanser rather than a medicated cleanser. If you get a medicated cleanser like Proactiv, you may dry out your skin hence increasing sebum production and then leading to acne. Dont use any exfoliating cleansers with the Clarisonic as it will be too abrasive since it already exfoliates. I really like Purity Made Simple.

Next step is toning which is optional. If you do use toner, use alcohol-free toners or a softener which all are alcohol-free. Shiseido Eudermine Revitalizing Essence is great. I like to collect them and use them as decorations lol. I made a lamp out of them hahahaha.

As for moisturizer. OMFG…Im obsessed. Since you’re young, there is no need to spent a crapload on it. Cerave Moisturizing Lotion is the best facial moisturizer at the drugstore PERIOD!. It contains hyaluronic acid which int eh skincare junkie world is the fountain of youth.
