I’ve been using this stuff for about 3 months now.
I just recently read the back, and it doesn’t contain benzoyl peroxide OR salicylic acid, but I’ve noticed that it does a better job at clearing my skin than the cleansers that do have those ingredients. Why is that?
I don’t have bad acne, I’ll just get the occasional pimple on my chin or nose every now and then, but I haven’t gotten any sense I started using this.

I actually just bought Cetaphil yesterday as I have finally come to the conclusion that acne, and your skin in general, should be treated gently. While salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are effective in the treatment of acne, they are almost completely useless when used in face wash. Think about it- it’s only on your face for what- 30 seconds? Ask any dermatologist and they’ll tell you those ingredients are only effective in topical creams and such. Cetaphil gets the job done- rinses away oil and dirt without overdrying, I hope more people ditch the washes with those ingredients, as they’re nothing but a waste of money frankly.
It’s common to see men find facial products that they can use to whiten, prevent acne break-outs, look younger, etc. but is it really safe (or effective) for them to use products that are designed for women (like Pond’s, Dove, OLAY, etc.)? Is ‘man skin’ really that different from ‘woman skin’?

I splash my face with warm water, cleanse with Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser, tone with either apple-cider-vinegar-and-water OR ten-aspirin-and-witch-hazel, moisturize with Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture, then (sometimes) do a spot-treatment with Tea Tree Oil (diluted with water).
&& It’s the same for the morning except for no spot-treatment.
So, yeah, how would I fit the scrub into this routine? Would I replace one of my steps with the scrub? Should I do it in the morning or at night? Do I only do it a few times a week?

After cleansing and toning your face, you should do the scrub. The scrub will work better on a clean skin with all the impurities removed. And it’ll remove the dead cells too. N then you rinse and mositurize.
For the homemade facial scrub, I use fruits such as mango and papaya for my scrub. They work just great!! Use the soft pulp of the fruits and mash it with a fork. Add about 1 tsp of sugar or enough to form a paste. Then use as any normal scrub. You can store this scrub in the fridge as well, in an air-tight container. If you have sensitive skin then do the scrub once a week. Otherwise upto twice a week is fine and usually recommended.
For you body, you mix lemon juice and sugar to form a scrub like consistency and use this for your body. Try it once, and you’ll be addicted!! This leaves your skin super soft and smooth!! I do that every 3 days, and then generously mositurize my body. Hope this helps!! ?

I bought a Facial Toner yesterday because I’ve heard they’re a very good thing to use. I know your able to use them with your regular facial cleanser, but on the back on the bottle, it doesn’t state how often to use it. I used it once yesterday because I wasn’t sure. My facial cleanser says “for best results, use twice daily” and that’s what I do. Would it be ok to use my Toner twice daily just like my cleanser? I just want to make sure so I’m not over-using, or under-using it.
And what would be best – using it before or after my cleanser? Yesterday I used it after my cleanser, but again, the back on the bottle didn’t say anything about when to/how often to use it so I just sort of guessed.

Theres a clean and clear system (or any system i would suppose) and it has a wash, moisturizer and spot treatment They are all ment to work together and thats why you should get a system, because even from the same company diffrent products dont always work together. Hey guys so I don’t have super bad acne, like I probably get 1-2 pimples every 3 months, but I just ran out of my Clinique 3-Step skincare, and I don’t know if there is any products that work better (cuz that one works pretty good) or if I should just get more of my clinique.
I think that if the Clinique products are working, then stay with them! I really love the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and Lotion from Clinique because it gives you soft, smooth skin w/out being oily. I also love Cliniques Instant Facial Turnaround Masque because it makes your skin soooooooo soft and silky! Try working those two products in with the 3 step program. Good luck!

I usually use a cold cream such as Pond’s to remove makeup and to generally cleanse my face. I have read that a pregnant woman should only use soap and water – but that is much too harsh for my skin, and so are most other facial cleansers. Can I still use my beloved cold cream? If not, does anyone have a recommendation?
Cold creme is fine, but don’t use the medicated cream.
I use Ponds as well now. Soaps are not the same as what they were 20 years ago except for Ivory. Which, by the way, is what you use if you start having problems with your skin (rashes) while pregnant. The deoderants in stuff like Irish Spring can give your skin problems during pregnancy. They go away with Ivory soap.

I have not tried it, for I have combination skin and it would be too oily for me. I suggest it for people with dry skin as a cleanser and moisturizer, but for others just use it as a moisturizer. If you want to use it as a cleanser I would suggest only using it a few times a week, not everyday-it’s too oily. Good luck!

I use an OTC medicated acne facial cleanser that contains triclosan. I know that some antibiotics such as penicilin, amoxil, etc. decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. Will a topical acne treatment containing triclosan have the same effect? Thanks!
