facial cleanser reviews
what do you think of this routine? healthy or no?

i want FLAWLESS skin. PERFECT flawless skin.
i have rather sensitive skin, and have occasional acne/rough patches etc.

this was my old routine
1. cleanse with garnier fresh cleanser
2. moisturize with garnier fresh moisturizer
-this didnt do much for me. it really did nothing.

so i switched to this:
1. cleanse with Clean&Clear foaming facial cleanser for sensitive skin
2. moisturize with Clean&Clear shine control moisurizer.
-Will i see a difference?? is this a good routine!
THOUGHTS/REVIEWS needed!

How is your skin feeling now? Did it itch or breakout soon after use or did it look and feel better?
Sometimes our skin protests because the products are really strong to dry up the oil, but hey your skin just doesn’t require that much cleansing and the “ph” gets out of balance then you end up with dry patches and/or acne. Usually on the chin and forehead.
Use a natural product scrub – don’t rub too hard and rinse well. I think you can get a small sample size of most products in Superdrug or well stocked chemists. This will allow you to experiment and may save your face and your purse!
Oatmeal scrub is good so is vitamin A and E, these are very good for healing damaged skin. Use the “Simple” brand. It has the bare basics for cleansing and the moisturizer has a sun block too. I applied the lotion 3 times a day on first use. My skin has looked better since using it( mine is sensitive and dry). I never ever use toner, just water.

No one or product can give you flawless skin. If you take care of your skin and eat fruit and veg (yawn!) or drink smoothies, you may end up with perfect skin. Don’t be fooled by the ads, airbrushing doesn’t happen to real skin just the photographed ones on the models with their well applied make up! I think good habits and good genes have a lot to do with it too.

purpose facial cleanser ingredients
Purpose facial cleanser: why is it good?

I have read a lot of reviews about the Purpose facial cleanser. A lot of people with acne says that its very good and is keeping their skin clear. But when you look at the ingredients, it doesn’t have Salicylic acid or Benzoyl peroxide. I’m thinking of buying this product since i read such good reviews about it, but i just want to know how it would keep your skin clear without medication in it. Thanks!

I never use the product before since I dont live in US but yeah I also heard lots of good reviews about it too! The thing is a cleanser is meant to be gentle, so it has to be very very basic and not contain anything harsh. So probs thats why it is good =p

facial cleansers for dry skin
What facial cleanser is good for my dry/sensitive skin?

i need a cleanser for my ACNE also on my cheeks, any suggestions and where to buy it/how much it costs?

I have the same situation! I have dry skin and some acne, but I want a strong cleanser to get it away but I don’t want it to irratate my skin.

DRUGSTORE RECCOMENDATIONS:
1. THE NEUTROGENA WAVE: These powerful cleaner leaves my face really soft and clears up acne at about 13.00. It comes with included pads with built-in cleaner, but it’s a little too powerful for my skin, but I love the vibrating cleanser. So, I buy plain cotton pads and put them on the Wave, and put a pump of my own cleanser for my skin. It works 100% better!

2. Since you have acne you probably think you don’t need a moistuirizer. But you do. I like Biore Lightweight Facial Moistuirizer at about 15 dollars. It’s an amazing moistuirzer and it protects my skin, too. But the SPF is a little heavy, so only use it in the morning during the daytime.

3. Neutrogena Liquid Face Cleaner. I love this because it’s fragrance free, allergy tested, and really gently cleanses. It’s about 8.99

DEPARTMENT STORES:

1. CLINIQUE THREE STEP: This system is an amazing investment. I have been using it every since I bought it, and never went back to anything else. It comes with 3 products, a cleanser, toner, and moistuirzer. Every product is personalized for your specific skin. It’s 60 dollars total, but i’ll lasts you about 6 months or more. It’s amazing and my skin is perfect! But it in department stores and online (Nordstrom, Nemain Marcus, macys, )

The face mask against acne is not only a best cure of acne but it also cleans your skin pores and maintains the tightness and texture of skin. When you find the mask recipe that works well with your skin, it can help to clear and soothe your skin. Here I offer the most popular facial masks for skin with acne. Try one or several of these masks to see how your skin responds to the treatment. When you find a mask that your skin really seems to respond well to, try using it one or two times a week to see improvements.

Baking Soda Mask

There are only two ingredients in this homemade acne mask; one is baking soda and second is water. Make a mixture of baking soda and water, after washing your face with any cleaner; gently apply this mask on your skin. After applying the mask stay relax for up to 20 minutes. Then wash your face and you will feel the softness and clarity of skin. And if your skin feels good with this acne homemade mask treatment, try it twice a week to clean your acne.

Egg White Mask

This is simple and quite frugal. All you need to do is separate the yolk from the egg whites. Then whip the egg whites until it becomes soft and frothy. Apply it to your clean face (using clean hands). Leave on for approximately 20 minutes and wash off with warm water. If you are allergic from egg, then don’t use it.

Egg Yolk Mask

The use of vitamin A against acne scarring is best treatment, and the yolk of egg contains it. Simply whip the yolk of egg and apply it on your skin. Leave it to at least 20 minutes and relaxed your skin mussels. Then wash off.

Acne Tonic with Basil

To make this homemade face mask, you need 3 teaspoons of dried basil leaves and boiling water. Steep basil leaves in water for 10 to 20 minutes. Cool, then apply to face with a white cotton ball.

Sea Salt or Table Salt Mask

Swim in the ocean (or buy sea salt and make a mask). Or just gently wash with salt & water mixed.

Oatmeal Mask

Blend some oatmeal with water and gently spread it onto your skin. Leave it until it dries (10-15 minutes). This mask is gentle and safe.

Apple&Honey Acne Mask

You need 1 medium apple and 4 tablespoons honey. Mix together the grated apple and honey. Smooth over your clean skin and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Rinse gently with warm water and moisturize as usual. This mask is good for oily skin that has a tendency to break out.

I’m tired of all these facial masks, scrubs, products- WHAT WORKS!? (10 points!)?

Okay, I used to have perfect skin. and I’m one of those people who acne looks absolutely strikingly awful on- I only feel pretty with flawless skin, I feel I have enough other flaws. I have sensitive skin too, it seems very prone to rashes and such since I’ve started using makeup (don’t say to stop, because I wont.)

Can you please tell me a facial moisturizer or a GOOD facial that is *homemade* and will not irritate my sensitive, currently splotchy and a little bumpy skin? Please? I’m desperate. I used baking soda and water and it felt like my face was burning when I took it off! Tea bags dried out my eyes-I have to deal with horrible wrinkles right under them. I tried apple cider vinegar- smells revolting. Should I just take a little break from products all together?
By the way, I was very happy when I recently purchased the Neutrogena grapefruit acne cleanser. It didn’t do ANYTHING about my few pimples, redness and bumps from waxing. PLEASE help, something simple even?

even though you said don’t say to stop wearing makeup, i’m gonna go ahead and say it anyway, but hear me out first…

use Boots Botanics skincare range… if you live out of the uk im sure you can order it in. use their sensitive skin soothing cleansing lotion, followed by their skin brightening toner. once you’ve let the toner fully soak in, use Botanics sensitive oil free moisturizer. i started using these products about a month ago, because i had quite uneven, blotchy skin but didn’t like covering it all up with make up. you may have to wait a couple of weeks before you notice a real difference, which admittedly means two or three weeks without wearing facial makeup, but it’ll be worth it. i don’t wear foundation or powder or anything anymore, just because i don’t need to. foundation just forms a barrier across your skin and stops clean air from reaching it, and just helps build up bacteria. in the long run, your skin will look much better if you don’t have to rely on makeup :)

and if you have irritated skin on your face or any spots, i strongly recommened sudo cream. you can usually find it down the baby aisle in drugstores, but its absolutely brilliant as an antiseptic healing cream, and really helps to calm red and inflamed areas, although i would advise using it only at night, because it doesn’t rub in brilliantly.

so sorry if thats all completely useless because im advising you not to wear makeup, but if you absolutely feel that you must, at least whilst your waiting for the Botanics stuff to take effect, try using a light, soft mineral foundation or powder, so your skin won’t be as weighed under :) hope this helps

facial cleanser with salicylic acid

Girls go through a great deal of physical and psychological changes during puberty. These changes include body composition, fat distribution, menstruation, growth spurts, body and facial hair growth, body odor and skin changes. The body physically changes as the fat tissue increases in the hips, thighs, and breasts producing the typical hourglass shape of females. With all these changes going on, what effect does acne have on girls during puberty?

During puberty girls experience an increased likelihood and severity of acne from the increased oil secretions in the skin. Puberty is often a difficult time and acne only adds to the difficulty. During puberty girls usually experience increased irritability, mood swings, and feelings of low self esteem. Even girls who have been very sure of themselves may suffer from low self esteem when puberty sets in. These changes may be even more severe in the girl also suffers from acne.

The negative changes in girls during puberty are made even worse if acne is a problem. You can help deal with the changes when you know how to lessen the problems of acne.

Practical Acne Treatments For Girls…

Proper skin care is the first step in treating acne. The face should be gently washed with a facial cleanser. There are many skin care products on the market that may help with acne. To kill the bacteria that cause acne the cleanser should contain salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide or sulfur. Gentle cleansing is an important factor when dealing with acne. A common mistake is to clean the face too often and with harsh cleansers. Careful cleaning of the face twice a day is the best way to go.

There are some cosmetics that can be detrimental if you are trying to control acne so it is important to use non-comedogenic products. Non-comedogenic products are less likely to cause acne, blackheads or block the pores of the skin. Today there are many non-comedogenic products available, such as makeup, lip stick, moisturizers, and even acne medicated makeup.

The changes experienced during puberty can take a mental and physical toll on girls. The onset of acne certainly makes these changes even harder to deal with. It is a good idea to visit with a dermatologist if the acne can not be controlled with over-the-counter medications. A dermatologist will understand the changes that are associated with acne and will be able to offer advice and treatment programs. It’s also important to be understanding and offer support to girls as puberty can be a difficult time to go through.

facial cleanser with glycolic acid

The Obagi Blue Peel has been featured on numerous talk shows, reality shows, and even on Oprah. So, what exactly is the infamous Obagi Blue Peel and what makes it so famous or desirable? Why do womens magazines rave about it and why do women wait in line to pay $500+ per peel? This article will fully explain the Obagi Blue Peel, pure TCA alternatives, pre and post skin care treatments, what one can expect, and how to save big on a TCA peel and post treatment.

The Obagi Blue Peel is really a blue green cream invented by Dr. Obagi with dyes that color the skin so doctors, dermatologists and plastic surgeons know where the skin peel has and hasnÂ’t been applied. It actual doesnÂ’t have any acid in it until it is added by the doctor. Obagi Blue Peels are used with trichloroacetic acid (TCA), the active ingredient, which must be obtained seperately (for more information on the leading manufacturer of TCA for skin peels please see the link below) and then added in various strengths to the Obagi cream. Many doctors have found that using the TCA by itself in strengths of 20-50% has had better and longer lasting results and quicker application times (this results in happier patients).

The purpose of any chemical skin peels is to remove the top most layers of the skin revealing fresh, younger looking skin. Chemical skin peels range in strength from light glycolic acid to deeper TCA and phenol skin peels (we wonÂ’t mention phenol peels as thay are highly toxic, can cause skin bleaching and most doctors will not even offer them). TCA peels, like the Obagi Blue Peel mixture are the most effective of the chemical peels and have been used by tens of thousands of dootors to treat acne, rosacea, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, aging and sun damaged skin, etcÂ… TCA has also been found to increase the production of collagen which can result in younger, more elastic and plump skin.

The Obagi Blue Peel cream slows the activity of the TCA and also weakens it so pretreatment with alpha hydroxy solutions is necessary for best results. Pure TCA, on the other hand, is a very fast acting acid and requires no pretreatment other than removing excess oil with a good soap or cleanser. The Obagi Blue Peel is applied in layers, depending on the depth desired and skin problems being addressed. Pure TCA is applied in sections. The skin will turn red and/or whiten indicating it is done and needs to be neutralized. The pure TCA is then neutralized with a soothing mixture of water, ice and baking soda. The Obagi Blue Peel does not usually need to be neutralized as it is a much weaker solution and will self neutralize on the skin.

Post peel, for any chemical peel, solutions and creams to promote healing and prevent bacterial infections are necessary. There are many over priced solutions on the market, but none work better than Neosporin antibacterial crème or its generic equivalents. Neosporin costs at most $3 (compare this to the cost of some of the post treatment cremes available as they can cost up to $100 and aren’t any more effective). Obagi Blue Peel will usually cost $500+ and requires several applications and expensive pretreatments (the required pretreatment, Obagi Nu Derm, can cost $250+) as it is a weaker peel. Pure TCA, is now available for in home use at a tremendous savings (see the link below) and requires fewer treatments for significant results.

Bio Oil vs Salicylic acid moisturizer ?

I had never moisturized before, and I must say, my acne has almost completely gone, as opposed to getting 2-3 spots every 2 days, I am usually getting 2-3 every 2 weeks now, and have gone even 2 weeks without having a single spot coming up and I think it’s all down to Moisturizing!

I use a clean and clear moisturizer, with Salicylic acid in it that’s oil free.

So, I was wondering whether it is OK to now move onto using Bio Oil to treat the scars left behind, and completely replace my regular clean and clear moisturizer with bio oil? Or will it be too oily for my skin and clog it up??

Also, may it be more likely the fact that i’m moisturizing that has helped improve my acne, or that i’m using other products with Salicylic acid in too? Like a clean and clear facial cleanser with salicylic acid in it, and cotton pads soaked in SA etc etc.

I’m really unsure as to what to do! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Bio Oil is only a serum, it’s not meant to be used as a moisturizer so it won’t replace your normal moisturizer. I’d recommend using both. The Bio Oil won’t clog up your pores if you’re using a good SA cleanser along with it. However, you need to find a balance. If you notice your face drying up too much go easy on the SA.

facial cleanser products

What is the best facial cleanser on the market, today? Daily cleansing is, of course, essential for the skin’s health and a glowing complexion. I always recommend a sensitive skin facial cleanser, even to people that don’t feel that their skin is particularly sensitive.

You see, I focus on helping people avoid things that cause a prematurely aged appearance. I believe that you can delay the outward signs of aging and possibly extend your life, if you make every effort to avoid toxins and to get all of the nutrients that you need, everyday. There are some nutrients that are particularly important to the skin’s health and appearance.

The best facial cleanser contains some of those nutrients. You have several choices for a daily sensitive skin facial cleanser. Each one contains different nutrients and is better suited for different cleansing needs.

First of all, I always recommend skincare products that are free of artificial preservatives, fragrances and colors. Natural vitamin E is an effective preservative and is one of the nutrients that are important to the skin’s health. As an antioxidant, it helps protect the cells from oxidative stress, free radical damage and aging.

The major companies choose to use artificial preservatives, simply because they are cheaper. They claim that those preservatives are more effective than natural vitamin E, but it simply isn’t true. If it is truly a sensitive skin facial cleanser, then it will not contain artificial preservatives.

Read the labels carefully on the products that you buy. Most companies use paraben preservatives. You will see them listed as methyl, ethyl or propyl parabens. Sodium methyl paraben is the most irritating and should not actually be used in skincare products, but if you look around, you’ll see that some companies still use the ingredient.

If you have oily-skin, the best facial cleanser to use on a daily basis is orange oil, but if you have acne, tea tree oil or manuka honey are better ingredients to look for, because they have natural antibacterial activity. Colloidal oatmeal is an ideal ingredient for a “very” sensitive skin facial cleanser. It relieves inflammation, redness, irritation, dermatitis and similar conditions. For excessive dryness, you might try plain olive oil and a warm cloth for cleansing.

Regardless of your skin-type, a deep cleansing mask is the best facial cleanser for use on an occasional basis. Regardless of how careful you are, dirt and grime can clog the pores and trap toxins that cause blemishes.

Clay masks are well known for their ability to absorb excessive oils and pull dirt out of the pores, but most products that contain clay dry to a hard shell that is difficult to remove. There is a new sensitive skin facial cleanser that contains the clay extracts, but won’t dry out on the skin’s surface, because the company I researched I found added macadamia oil and Shea Butter.

Only an informed consumer can protect themselves from the major cosmetic companies and the irritating ingredients that they include in their skincare products. You won’t find the best facial cleanser in a department store, but thanks to the internet, you can easily have it shipped to your home.
